Faculty & Staff
Our faculty and staff are committed to in-person classroom instruction where they model Christ-centered living while leading our children in their studies. They love God and teach our children how to study His word and world.

Headmaster: Mr. Gareth Schuth
Mr. Schuth is a 2005 Messiah College graduate with a BS in Music Education. After teaching music in public school and tutoring students in Math, he discovered his love of teaching Math. This led to adding Math and Science credentials to his PA Teaching Certificate. He is excited to share his knowledge and love of these subjects with his students. “Helping transform young minds to the likeness of Christ takes time, effort, and love.”
In addition to his duties as Headmaster, Mr. Schuth teaches 6th-8th grade Math. Gareth and his wife, Annie, are members of Grace Baptist Church and have four children.

School Secretary: Ms. Allison Stine
Ms. Stine serves as the school secretary and assists the Headmaster in many of his administrative duties. She also assists with athletic scheduling, yearbook editing, and provides first aid to the students.
Ms. Stine earned a BS in Life Science from Penn State University and later received a MS in Counseling from Shippensburg University. She has two children and is a member of CEFC Carlisle.

Pre-K: Mrs. Amanda Beardmore
Mrs. Beardmore is a Medical Assistant and graduate of Sussex County Community College. Amanda served as our Pre-K classroom aide for several years before serving as the teacher. Amanda and her husband, Aaron, have three children and are members of Grace Baptist Church.

Pre-K Aide: Mrs. Nicole Livesay
Mrs. Livesay is a graduate of Millersville University with a BA in Communications and music minor. Nicole worked in human resources prior to joining the faculty at Grace. She currently serves as a 2&3 year old Sunday School teacher as well as leader of the senior high youth group at Grace.
Nicole and her husband Zac live in Mount Holly Springs and are members of Grace Baptist Church.

Kindergarten: Mrs. Melanie Endres
Mrs. Endres is a graduate of Messiah College and has a BS in Elementary Education. Melanie taught 2nd grade at the Christian school 1995-1999, and has been teaching Kindergarten since 2011.
Melanie and her husband, Mike, have three children and are members of Grace Baptist Church.

First Grade: Miss Keturah Peterson
Miss Peterson is glad to be a part of Grace. Her greatest joy in teaching is sharing Biblical truth with children while encouraging a love of learning. She graduated from Taylor University with a BS in Elementary Education and taught kindergarten for twelve years before coming to Grace. She enjoys getting to know the people in the Carlisle community and is a member of Redeemer OPC.

Second Grade: Mrs. Susanne Harris
Mrs. Harris is a 1986 Shippensburg University graduate with a BS in Elementary Education. She has taught various grade levels including four years here at Grace Baptist Christian School (1990-1994) in first grade.
Susanne lives in Chambersburg where her beloved late husband, Craig, pastored Grace Baptist Church. She has two grown children.

Third Grade Grammar, Science, and Social Studies; 6th Grade Reading: Mrs. Christy Wiedman
Mrs. Wiedman holds a BA in Bible and Elementary Education from Baptist Bible College. Mrs. Wiedman taught 2nd Grade from 1992-1995 and 4th Grade from 1999-2000 at West Shore Christian School.
Christy has seven children. She and her husband, Erik, are members of West Shore Evangelical Free Church.

Third Grade Bible, Math, Spelling, Reading, and Grades 1-8 Technology Coordinator: Mr. Mike Endres
Mr. Endres received his Bachelor degree from Messiah College and joined the faculty in 1999 after completing his Master’s degree from Shippensburg University in Special Education. He is the Computer Lab teacher for grades 1-8, teaches 3rd grade, coaches boys soccer and directs the Boy’s Ensemble.
He is married to our Kindergarten teacher, Melanie, and has three children. Mike and Melanie are members of Grace Baptist Church.

Fourth Grade: Mrs. Joy DeAngelo Bowman
Mrs. Bowman is thrilled to be joining the Grace Baptist Christian School family this year. She grew up in Carlisle and is a GBCS alumni! She earned a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Messiah College and a Masters in Multicultural Education from Eastern University. She taught a combination of kindergarten and 1st Grade in both Harrisburg School District and then Colonial School District from 1999-2007. After years of being a stay at home mom, Mrs. Bowman returned to the classroom as a substitute teacher in grades K-5 and taught pre-k for 3 years. After 16+ years living in the Philadelphia area, Mrs. Bowman, her husband John, and 3 sons were excited for the opportunity to come back to central PA. She and her husband are members of CEFC Carlisle.

Fifth Grade: Miss Angie Tonkin
Miss Tonkin attended the Christian School of Grace Baptist Church, graduating with the class of 2008. Miss Tonkin is also a graduate of West Shore Christian Academy and Liberty University with a BS in Special Education Integrated Studies, and recently earned a MS in Educational Leadership & Administration from Cairn University. Prior to teaching at Grace, she has taught various middle school subjects in Christian and public school settings. She also brings to our staff coaching experience in soccer and track.
Miss Tonkin teaches 5th grade and 5th & 6th Geography and Science and is a member of Grace Baptist Church.

7th & 8th Grade Grammar, and 7th & 8th Grade Spanish: Mrs. Sara Leone
Sara Leone graduated from The Christian School of Grace Baptist Church after attending the school from Kindergarten through eighth grade. Following high school graduation at Christian School of York, Mrs. Leone earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Grove City College, spending her junior year in Seville, Spain. She has taught various grade levels in Christian schools in Illinois and Pennsylvania.
Mrs. Leone, whose husband Scott is an ordained minister, has published a book on the responsibilities of pastors’ wives entitled, Her Husband’s Crown – A Wife’s Ministry and a Minister’s Wife. She also compiled a book of prayers, Heart Cries to Heaven. She and her husband have three children and two grandchildren. Mrs. Leone enjoys family history, crocheting, playing the piano and organ, and reading.

6th-8th Grade Bible, 6th Grade Grammar, 7th & 8th Grade History and Literature, 7th & 8th Grade Science, 5th-8th Grade PE: Mr. Andrew Nedimyer
Mr. Nedimyer is a graduate of Houghton college. He spent several years with the Air Force reserves before taking a teaching position in Maryland. He has several years of secondary teaching and coaching experience. Andrew and his wife, Courtney, have four children and are members of Grace Baptist Church. He teaches 6th-8th grade Bible, 6th Grade Grammar, 7th & 8th Grade History and Literature, and 5th-8th Grade PE.

Tutor: Mrs. Beth Allen
Mrs. Allen is excited to join the Grace Baptist School family as an elementary teacher aide and tutor. She has a Master’s of Education in Guidance Counseling and worked at a Christian school in Massachusetts for 17 years. She and her husband moved to Pennsylvania in 2015. They have four grandchildren who are the delight of their days (three living in PA and one in TX). Mrs. Allen and her husband attend West Shore Free Church.

Elementary Aide: Mrs. Becca Beardmore
Mrs. Beardmore is a graduate of Houghton College with a BS in Inclusive Childhood Education. She taught 4th grade at the Christian school from 2008-2011.
She and her husband, Paul, have three children and are members of Grace Baptist Church.
Kindergarten Aide: Mrs. Pam Hosler

Mrs. Hosler earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Gordon College and a Master of Science in Reading from Shippensburg University. She taught kindergarten and third grade at The Christian School from 1981 – 1986. After teaching students with learning disabilities at various Christian schools, she returned to Grace in 2012 to teach language arts in third and fourth grades.
Pam has three children. She and her husband, Greg, are members of Grace Baptist Church.

Music: Mrs. Carol Garman
Mrs. Garman is a 1979 Geneva College graduate with a degree in Elementary Education and a concentration in music. Prior to her marriage, Mrs. Garman taught 2nd grade in The Christian School from 1979-80, 2nd and 3rd grade from 1980-81, and 2nd grade from 1981-1984. She is a past member of the Genevans Concert Choir and Madrigals, and she traveled with the Continental Singers for one summer singing in Holland, Germany and Poland. She has served in the Christian School as a music substitute for several years as well as accompanist and music coach.
Mrs. Garman returned to The Christian School as music teacher in 2002 providing music instruction to grades 1 through 8. She directs the middle school choir, Girls’ Ensemble, and Grace Notes. Her duties include planning and directing the music portion of school programs, and preparing students for annual music competitions. Phil and Carol Garman have three grown children and are members of Grace Baptist Church.

Art: Mrs. Trude Brummer
Mrs. Brummer has a bachelors degree from Shippensburg University in Art & Communications Journalism. She had been a substitute teacher for the school for several years and now uses her graphic arts experience as she teaches 1st-6th Grade Art.
Trude and her husband have two children and attend The Meeting House in Carlisle.
