Children who are four years old by September 1st may be admitted to Pre-K.
Children who are five years old by September 1st may be admitted to Kindergarten.
Children who are six years old by September 1st may be admitted to the First Grade.
A birth certificate or similar proof of age must be furnished when registering.
Exceptions
Children reaching the age of 5 or 6 during the month of September may be admitted at the discretion of the Headmaster. You must provide a statement from a certified psychologist that the child is developmentally, socially, emotionally, and academically ready to be enrolled in Kindergarten or 1st grade. Children will not be granted early admission unless they will meet the age requirement by September 30th and have a mental age at least two years above their chronological age. The headmaster will review early admission applications and recommend approval or disapproval in writing to the School Board. No student will be considered for enrollment who will not be 5 (Kindergarten) or 6 (First Grade) years old by September 30th.
Waiting List
Students placed on a waiting list will be notified of openings only at the beginning of a semester. Students will be contacted in order, determined by when they notified the school of their intent to enroll. Children of members of Grade Baptist Church will receive first priority in filling any openings at the beginning of the semester.
Transfer Students
Transfer students will be interviewed by the Headmaster and will be tested. When transferring from other schools, it is important to bring the most recent report card along to the interview. Following acceptance, the Headmaster will make the final request for transfer of records from the previous school.
